Subject: 10695/Code/2-152(h)/OvertimePay-Police Date: Fri, 18 Aug 1989 14:54:00 -0500 ORDINANCE NO. 10695 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE, PART II, SECTION 2-152(H), RELATIVE TO OVERTIME PAY FOR CERTAIN CITY EMPLOYEES ENGAGED IN LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES. _________________________ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, as follows: SECTION 1. That Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Section 2-152(h) be and the same is hereby amended by adding a new subsection (h)(4) as follows: (4) Compensatory time for police officers on special assignment. Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, the Chief of Police may, with the agreement of police officers on special assignment or assigned to special duties other than patrol or investigative duties, grant compensatory time to such officers in lieu of overtime pay in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and regulations of the Department of Labor. SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall take effect two (2) weeks from and after its passage as required by law.
